Academic focus

Academic work and private practice are two sides of the same coin for us: each one requires the other.

If we put a high value on the academic activity of our lawyers, this represents one of the core interests of our firm: in the fields in which we work, we want to be at the forefront in acquiring new knowledge that could be relevant in future, in order to offer our clients the best, most forward-looking advice that we can.

Engaging with universities therefore has a special significance for us. The inspiration that our lawyers receive there is just as valuable for them as for the students. It is not uncommon for us to develop concepts in the academic sphere which later prove their worth in practice and in some cases even become the market standard.

We are convinced that academic work is essential to an innovative and excellent consultancy practice. We are therefore keen to promote the academic activity of our lawyers by giving them the flexibility they need for teaching, but also for writing or editing reference books and articles. We see the approximately 60 honorary professorships and lectureships and the several hundred publications by our lawyers as investments in the future of our firm.
