In 2016, Dr. Alessandro Covi, along with his team at the time, moved to Herbert Smith Freehills and has since played a significant role in developing the firm's German arbitration practice. His work focuses on complex technical arbitration, investor-state arbitration, and commercial arbitration. Dr. Covi has successfully represented a wide range of clients from various industries, including states and companies from the energy, infrastructure, plant construction, chemical industry, and medical technology sectors.
Recently, Dr. Covi has expanded his area of expertise to include arbitration proceedings related to intellectual property, including significant disputes over trade secrets and licensing issues in various technology sectors. Besides his role as a lawyer, Dr. Covi also serves as an arbitrator and is actively involved as a Federal Coordinator of DIS40, the youth organization of the German Institution of Arbitration.
The inclusion of Dr. Covi as an Associate Partner marks a strategically important step for Kapellmann and Partner.
