Mario advises principals and contracts on all issues surrounding private construction law and architects’ and engineers’ law, especially on contract drafting. In the event of a dispute he represents his clients both in and out of court. A further key practice area is real estate law.

Recent work

• Extrajudicial contract and claim management as well as DAB proceedings for owners of national electricity transmission grids concerning contractors’ claims for additional remuneration exceeding EUR 400 million and extension of time claims
• Representing an LNG operator in construction dispute of LNG Terminal with claim value exceeding EUR 200 million against Spanish consortium (German seat, German law applicable, language: English)
• Representing a wind farm owner in a DIS arbitration regarding various defects with a claim value of approx. EUR 45 million (German seat, German law applicable, language: English)
• Representing a contractor in a GMAA arbitration against the general contractor regarding remuneration in a cable-laying contract value of approx. EUR 5 million (German seat, German law applicable, language: English)
• Defending a Dutch contractor in independent expert determination proceedings initiated by a Spanish developer of an offshore wind farm regarding the installation of inter-array cables and delay (language: English)
• Various proceedings concerning remuneration and defects before the national courts (including independent expert determination proceedings)
• Drafting and negotiating construction contracts, general contractor agreements, FIDIC contracts, plant construction contracts, supply and installation contracts, architect/specialist planner agreements, maintenance contracts and framework agreements in the renewable energy and residential construction sectors (languages: German and English)
• In-house support of a Danish project developer in the sale of a portfolio comprising 16 onshore wind energy repowering and greenfield projects (volume: > EUR 100 million), in particular in-house support of the German project team in the context of the restructuring as well as handling of real estate law due diligence findings
